Michael
Doc Williams tells contemporary and traditional tales from around
the world with a particular focus on North America. His repertoire includes
Native American tales, Canadian folktales, and stories and songs from Appalachia,
the Wild West, and the folk tradition. He particularly enjoys sharing stories
and songs of peace and non-conflict drawn from a variety of cultures and
suitable for all ages.
Michael happily works with audiences young and old, but he is particularly at home working with teenagers and young adults, having qualified and acquired years of experience as a teacher and child care worker. He has incorporated storytelling into his counselling and peace education work with young people and is a member of the Edinburgh-based Dirty Rascals storytelling group which explores the therapeutic and healing power of stories and storytelling.
